Amazing place with amazing staff! I have been going to Ocean Dental since I was a child. My whole family still goes there and now my children do as well and everyone treats you with so much kindness, remembers your name and details about your life from previous conversations, and basically just treats you like family. They have a beautiful office with amazing reclining chairs, TVs on the ceiling with headphones for you to wear to keep you entertained while they do whatever you are there for, and all the latest technology for scanning your teeth, etc. But the best thing I love about Ocean Dental is how they go above and beyond with each person. They get to know you and remember you and greet you by name when you come in. They do everything they can to make you comfortable and are AMAZING with kids. They even have a play area with toys and books to keep kids occupied while waiting. Highly highly recommend!

I had Vanessa as my hygienist and she is just amazing I honestly love her and asked if it was possible to put a request on my file to have her again for all of my future visits . Dr. Poulad is also very kind and amazing with kids which is why I started coming here in the first place. My kids have all come to Dr. Poulad for they're very first dentist appointments and they are always literally excited to come back when I tell them I've booked appointments for them. The first question they ask everytime is "can we get another balloon!?", which Dr. Poulad is always happy to make for them .

I am a long time patient of the clinic and Dr. Pidzarko. Was recommended by my friend, and so all my family are clients as well We have no complaint but only pleasure to be a clients of the clinic Good service, friendly reception, who answers all questions Great assistance staff! The clinic has everything to treat your teeth (regular cleaning, exams, X-Ray, implants, crown, surgeries etc.) All staff is paying attention to details and we, as a clients, really value it! I had a dental emergency while pregnant with extreme nausea. Dr.Poulad and his assistant were absolutely amazing. There was so much attention and care put into explaining everything in detail and putting in the maximum effort to ensure my comfort. I'm very pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the entire experience was and grateful for how quickly and efficiently Dr.Poulad was able to resolve the situation. I highly recommend Dr. Poulad for all patients, especially anyone who is pregnant.

Dr Lyle Pidzarko

General Dentist

For someone who enjoys helping people and who loves to work with his hands, dentistry is an ideal profession. “I really enjoy striving to make a difference in people’s lives,” says Dr. Pidzarko. “It is rewarding to help a patient to achieve a straighter and healthier smile when we restore their teeth. We want our patients to leave here feeling good about their health and appearance.”

“Implant dentistry allows me to offer a possible solution to patients who are missing teeth and who wish to have something that looks and functions naturally. Individual teeth, implant supported bridges or implant supported dentures can help improve how people feel about themselves. I love to sit down with people and discuss what they would like to change and so I can create a treatment plan customized to their needs.”

Dr Pidzarko is a General Dentist who attained his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Alberta in Edmonton in 1990. He founded Ocean Dental and has been practicing there since 1990. He is passionate about continuing education.

Away from dentistry, he enjoys golfing, playing hockey, as well as cooking, travel and skiing with his wife and two sons.

Dr Vern Beckie

General Dentist

Dr. Beckie graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Doctor of Dental Medicine in 1986 at the age of 22.

He moved to Metro Vancouver in 1987 and practiced in several locations before settling at Ocean Dental in 1998.

"What makes dentistry exciting for me is incorporating technology into daily practice. Every day I am looking for ways to make dentistry more comfortable for our customers. I love hearing how I did from my patients."

I enjoy skiing, hockey, golf, yoga, gardening and photography. Happily married since 1991 and a father of three school aged girls, I have a large extended family that I am very close to. It gives me the opportunity to hear about the needs and concerns of all ages.
Dr Mehr Poulad

General Dentist

Dr. Poulad received his dental degree from the University of British Columbia. His undergraduate degree is in Cell Biology, Genetics and Economics.

During his studies as a dental student he had an externship to a rural BC community. He performed dentistry there and he enjoyed the experience so much that after completing dental school he returned to that community to provide dental care to the underserved. Every year, Dr. Poulad donates his time and expertise, and travels to less fortunate countries to provide dental care.

Dr. Poulad gets along with all ages: he spent 10 years as a day camp leader, sports instructor, teen mentor, and referee with the North Van Rec Commission. In addition to his experience with the youth, he volunteered at the Evergreen House, a long term care facility for the elderly.

Growing up on the North Shore allowed him to have an active life. He grew up playing many team sports: basketball, soccer, rugby and volleyball. He continued with basketball and soccer at the University of British Columbia playing on several intramural men's teams.

Dr. Poulad’s focus is on patient care and striving to help his patients remain comfortable while receiving professional treatment. "My goal is to put the patient at ease and make them feel comfortable prior to starting any dental treatment." Dr. Poulad involves his patients in the process by helping to educate them. He also takes great pride in striving to alleviate fears the patient may have and providing dedicated care.
Dr Christopher Chung

General Dentist

Dr Chris Chung grew up in Vancouver and completed his undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of British Columbia. He then went on to obtain his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University of Sydney and worked in Melbourne for a few years before returning home to beautiful British Columbia.

Dr Chung enjoys all aspects of general dentistry with a strong focus on restorative and oral surgery. He understands that going to the dentist can be stressful for some people so he aims to create a safe and comforting environment where patients can feel at ease. Dr Chung also speaks Cantonese.

Outside of the clinic, Dr Chung likes staying active, travelling and trying all the great restaurants Vancouver has to offer!
