New Patients Ocean Dental Burnaby

At Ocean Dental, we always welcome new patients and aim to make you feel comfortable and healthy, no matter what your oral health care needs may be.

What Happens During My First Appointment?

During your first visit to our Burnaby dental office, we will review your dental and medical history, and perform a thorough dental examination. This will include a series of dental x-rays, photographs, and intra-oral examinations, which will help us better assess your smile and dental needs. Following this initial assessment, our team will take time to discuss your current dental health, make recommendations, explore your goals for your ideal smile, and develop a treatment plan that meets or exceeds your expectations.

There are of course those patients who arrive at our office under emergency circumstances. In these cases, our goal is always to relieve them of any discomfort as soon as possible. This usually involves a very specific examination and x-ray of the area concerned and a plan to get you feeling better as soon as possible.

Our goal is to provide you with a lifelong dental health plan that costs you the least in time and money. We will work with you to ensure you take full advantage of your dental benefits, and maintain optimal oral health that is affordable.

Dental Insurance

In light of the new normal of a post-pandemic world, it has become increasingly difficult for dental practices to communicate with insurance agencies, who prefer speaking to their clients directly.

We will send pre-authorization requests to your insurance provider and assist you with your claim form submissions to make the process as seamless as possible.

Rest assured, you will typically receive reimbursement for your dental claims within 2 to 5 business days after submission.

Administrative Team

At Ocean Dental, our knowledgeable administrative team will work with your dental insurance provider to maximize your benefits during your treatment. We will always help to submit to your dental plan on your behalf to help to ensure you receive your reimbursement as quickly as possible.

Appointments

Your dental appointment is considered confirmed at the time of booking. This means we are reserving time with our doctor, assistant and hygienist, as well as operatory space as required. We will be sterilizing and preparing the operatory space, equipment, and materials required for your procedure.

Cancellations

If you are unable to attend your appointment, you'll need to contact our office with 3 business days notice to reschedule. As a courtesy, we'll notify you 3 days prior by email if you provide us with a current email address. Alternatively, we'll call 2 days prior to remind you of the appointment you have booked.
